Lateral Arm, 6-1/3-Inch, Replacement for Astral 19 and 22 Filters — an aftermarket lateral / center pipe dimensioned to drop into Astral filtration systems without modification. In service it collects filtered water from the bottom of the sand bed while holding the sand back. This is a consumable in practice: the slots widen or the arms snap, which sends sand into the pool. Ours is molded in reinforced thermoplastic.
