This pump lid / trap cover is a compatible replacement for the Hayward original, supplied as the Strainer Cover Replacement Kit for Max-Flo Pool and Spa Pump. In service it seals the strainer pot and lets the operator see and clear the basket without breaking plumbing. This is a consumable in practice: the clear plastic crazes and clouds with chemical exposure, and the sealing surface distorts so the pump loses prime. Ours is molded in clear polycarbonate and dimensionally checked against an OEM sample before tooling is signed off.
