This gasket is a compatible replacement for the Pentair original, supplied as the 8-3/8" Pool Light Lens Gasket and Stainless Pilot Screw. In service it seals the joint between two housing faces and keeps the circuit pressure-tight. This is a consumable in practice: the material compresses permanently and loses its rebound, so the joint begins to weep under pressure.
